Overview of OUTER AREAS Phoenix Hotels

Phoenix, Arizona has been one of the fastest growing cities in the United States for the past twenty years. Through recession, and political and racial turmoil, the city has not ceased to thrive, making it an oddity. The continued growth has played a major role in how the city has been defined, suburban sprawl being a major consequence. Nevertheless, the Sonoran Desert and the accompanying climate charm millions of people, and droves of them continue to move in and call Arizona home.

With this large, consistent growth, business has boomed and even people who live elsewhere are often flying into Phoenix for business trips of all kinds. Interstate commerce has created a thriving tourist accommodation industry. The pros and cons of this environment are evident. There seems to be a hotel on every street corner, especially in downtown Phoenix, giving people plenty of options to choose from. At the same time, prices for a night's stay are higher in the city than most other locales. Because of the high demand, many people weigh the benefits of finding cheap Phoenix hotels further from the city center in Outer Areas of Phoenix.

Commute is straightforward (I-10 and I-17) making fast travel fairly simple, but a straight swath through the town by car takes almost an hour in mild traffic. That means if people stay far from their place of business, they may end up spending a significant time commuting and a fair wage on gas. The tradeoff means business travelers have to be smart about booking rooms. Many hotels in nearby Glendale, Scottsdale and Tempe offer cheaper prices than those in downtown Phoenix.

The Courtyard by Marriot on the border of Avondale and Glendale offers significantly reduced prices, compared to inner-Phoenix locations. It is a straight shot on I-10 into town from the Courtyard, reducing commute time as well. Somewhat further away, Comfort Suites Hotel near the University on Agua Fria Freeway has lower prices still. The only major issue, of course, of staying off of the Interstate, is the increased commute time.

Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa and Chandler are all seated on major freeways, and for those that do not mind the somewhat more sluggish travel pace, hotels in these locations are more affordable while offering the same level of service. No one wants to stay in a hotel that adds to the stress of travel, and for many that means not paying more than they can afford. When travelers are able to find accommodations that split the difference between discounts and raised costs traveling to and from work, they are poised to have the most relaxed stay away from home.
